My Directors of The Victoria Investment Corporation having formed the opinion that the territory on the mainland of Kowloon, in China, and the adjacent islands, lately added to the Crown Colony of Hongkong, may probably contain deposits of valuable minerals for which search should be made and being prepared to undertake and carry out such search and exploration at the expense of the Corporation, approach Her Majesty's Government with the request that the Government should grant to the Corporation the exclusive right to prospect for minerals during in the territory in question for the term of five years. During that period the Corporation will agree to thoroughly examine the area, as far as may be practicable, and should payable minerals be discovered shall have the right to mark out for

themselves
